As an ancient town,Al- Mafraq is one of the most important settlements because of it's history dating back to the Ottoman period and is an important link between levant which contains the Hijaz railway.
This project was divided into two phases. The first phase was urban planning and studying the current situation of Al-mafraq city. The second phase was planning and redesign Al-Hisba district.
The project aims to show the culture and history of Al-Mafraq City utilize of islamic urban design so we emphasized on the mosque axis which linked the religious, governmental and commercial complexes. The design of Al-Hisba district focused on local and historical architecture near the city of Mafraq such as Umm-Jimal ruins.
